This is a very easy 3-km route offering a great introduction to snowshoes. It will take you through a fir and spruce wood - an environment very popular with squirrels.

Distance: 3 km

Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes

Start / end: at the foot of the Les Jasseries chairlift

Difference in altitude: 100 m

Difficulties: none

Signposting: squirrel tracks

This route requires intermediate technical ability and alternates between easy sections along a forest trail and some fairly steep slopes. The trail gives you the opportunity to explore the deeply wooded valley of the Morte and passes close to some peat land (please note that this area is very damp, especially when the snow melts).

Distance: 6 km

Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes / 3 hours

Start / end: at the foot of the Les Jasseries chairlift

Difference in altitude: 220 m

Difficulties: fairly steep slopes

Signposting: roe deer tracks

This route, which involves taking the Les Jasseries chairlift, offers a trip to and from the Hautes-Chaumes du Forez and allows you to enjoy the panoramic view from Pierre-sur-Haute, at an altitude of 1,640 m. Please note that this route is not recommended when the weather is bad.

Distance: 2.5 km

Time: 1 hour

Start / end: Les Jasseries chairlift

Variant: As a round trip (5 km) or by taking the chairlift either on the way out or on the way back

Difference in altitude: 150 m

Signposting: Fox tracks
